About Me

Picture
I am an expressive arts therapist with a specialization in working with children and teens.  My work is rooted in the belief that our creativity is a wellspring of our deepest sources of wisdom and organically guides us toward growth and healing.

I obtained my master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and Mental Health Counseling at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, one of the main educational centers for Expressive Arts Therapy in the country where many of my professors were innovators in the field.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families in community, school, and hospital settings.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Theatre from West Virginia University, and I'm currently working toward obtaining my registration as an Expressive Arts Therapist through the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association.  In 2009, I presented my work using dance therapy with adolescent girls at the International Expressive Arts Therapy Conference.

I currently live among the manatees, alligators, and mosquitoes in Sebastian, Florida, and work at the Children's Crisis and Stabilization Unit at New Horizons of the Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Creativity is like freedom: once you taste it, you cannot live without it.
It is a transformative force, enhancing self-esteem and self-empowerment.
